About Us

Alimonco was founded in 1998 by a diverse group of individuals combining youth, experience, finance, and proven track records in the food trading business. The primary focus of the company is the export and import of frozen food commodities. The business has been built, and continues to grow, on the strength of meat and poultry exports, and the export and import of fruit and vegetable products; namely cranberries and blueberries.

Alimonco has a solid foundation and presence in the Quebec market, ideally located in the port city of Montreal, surrounded by pork, poultry, cranberry, and blueberry processors. The company trades a full range of fruit and vegetable products; IQF, purees, juice concentrates, as well as pork, beef, and poultry items. As the business evolved, our focus has been on marketing Canadian and Quebec based products, and financing projects in partnership with leading processors in both the meat and fruit sectors.

Specialty foods also play a significant role in the company’s portfolio, the export of maple syrup has been one of the mainstays since Alimonco’s inception. Honey and dried fruits are also growing areas of our business.

Alimonco is a full service company: export/import, documentation, finance, and logistics, from moving one pallet across the province, to multi container contracts by sea, land and air around the globe. The company is well versed in documentary letters of credit, and Customs rules and regulations in nations around the world.
